Hancock - B+ Why is this thing getting bad reviews? Will Smith is funny, the movie is funny, the special effects are good, but don't detract. Taking a 1/2 turn from comedy to drama is hardly a big deal - the whole switch hinges on a nice plot twist.

I agree. Lots of fun, doesn't take itself too seriously and Charlize Theron. Can you ask for more?

I agree as well. I loved the drunk, surly Hancock. "Cause I've been drinking, Bitch!"

yeah it's a very enjoyable movie.

also i saw you don't mess with the zohan. I give it about a b-. the gags are pretty funny until about 3/4 into it. i did lol quite a few times though.

WALL-E and Iron Man at the Drive -In.

WALL-E has become my favorite puter animation film. Never was that big a fan but the sci-fi story lends itself well to the medium. Iron Man was pretty cool as well. How is it that some of the Marvel comics translate into great movies(Spiderman)pretty good movies(Fantastic Four, XMen)and real stinkers(Daredevil,Punisher)?

Wanted - B+

GOTDAMNN Angelina Jolie is motherfucking hot. The story got a little weird, but the action is high quality.

Morgan Freeman is solid, but someone a little more creepy (Malcolm McDowell, maybe?) would have been better.

I give it a B: Over the top action, a smoking hot Jolie and a solid performance from McAvoy.

Saw this today. Video game inspired plot but confirmed on the Jolie hottness factor.

You should have posted this in the "Movies I plan on seeing this month" thread over on the Technical Forum.

It's pinned on the top too also.

Hellboy II - B

effects are awesome, story is ok, movie moves really well, and there's great humor and wit about it. slightly better than the first movie.

Looks like Eddie Murphy has another Pluto Nash on his hands. Meet Dave cost $55 million and brought in $5.5 million opening weekend.

Until I read this post, I had no idea he even had a new movie out. I did watch the trailer online, and it looks like our nation has wasted another $5.5 million on a stinking piece of crap.

Let's see...

best movie I've seen this year was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Elizabeth Taylor was a gorgeous woman.

I took my son to see Jorney to the Center of the Earth yesterday. Cute movie. He digs anything with dinosaurs. Mindless entertainment that I'd give a B-.

confirm on errything

Hellboy 2 was sold out so saw Wanted. Angi looked and acted bad arse. The bending bullets and flying cars into and off of things were completely preposterous but flick is based off of a comic book so that's cool. Good, solid turn your brain off popcorn movie. Lurved Angi's tats.

WALL-E is flat out awesome. Best thing Pixar has done and that's something. The best complaint I've heard about it boiled down to: "Pixar can tug hear strings a gesture, charm and thrill us with a story for kids and adults. Now I want them to use all that talent to tell a difficult and deep story just for grown-ups."

If you like WALL-E and haven't seen Iron Giant, run, do not walk and buy yourself a copy of the DVD.

Iron Giant is one of mine and my kids favorite movies. I had to buy a new copy because we kept watching it over and over. Brad Bird is one amazing film maker. (Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Ratatouille.)

I watched A History Of Violence last night. Granted, it was on Spike T.V, so it was a bit cut-up. It recieved lots of award nominations. Good entertaining movie, but not your typical oscar nominations type film. It kind of resembled a Steven Segall movie just with good actors.

I saw Wanted at the Drive In last weekend and it was really pretty good.

You have suspend your belief and the "twist" is totally predictable...

But it was pretty action packed and very well acted.

I love the Drive In for these types of movies.

Confidence - A - I love a good con movie and this is as good as any I've seen. And ensemble cast with Ed Burns, Rachel Weisz, Paul Giamatti, Dustin Hoffman, Luiz Guzman, Andy Garcia, Morris Chestnut... This movie must have cost a fortune to make and I don't remember ever hearing a word about it. Which is sad because it's a good movie. Much better than...

Southland Tales - F for WT... - I have no idea what this movie was trying to do. Comedy? Dystopian drama? Political statement? I gave up after about 30 minutes of jagged plot jumping and nonsensical dialog. Another ensemble cast of The Rock, some porn chyx, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Christopher Lambert (WTF?), Sean William Scott, John Larroquette, Justin Timberlake and 14 years of SNL cast members.

Double confirm - didn't think they could top The Incredibles, but they did that in spades.
